Guess who has a family?!
Remember this post? On a 'Waiting Wednesday' I posted about two little girls named Shawna and Lindsay who are in the same facility in EE. I posted about them together, saying they'd be great sisters. Well, guess what?! The Eubanks family must have thought the same thing and have recently committed to bringing both of them home! Check out their blog here and follow their journey to bring their new daughters home!!

Ability
This is Lucy.
Tracy is fundraising to bring Lucy (Lucia Grace will be her new name) home.
She had these awesome shirts made that celebrate the ABILITIES of any child who would normaly be seen only for what they cannot do. They are so cute! Please consider purchasing one. You'll have a hand in helping to bring home sweet Lucia Grace.

Misc/Waiting Wednesday!
It's Waiting Wednesday again and I thought I'd post about two little boys since I posted about two little girls last week. Meet Darryl and Ralph! Not much info about either of them yet but, aren't they adorable? Look at their smiles. They appear to be in the same Baby House or, at the least, in the same region so they should be able to be adopted together. They're also very close in age. It'd be like having twins! Unfortunately, they're approaching the dreaded age where they will be transferred to institutions.
DARRYL
Date of Birth: June 2007
Gender: Male
Eyes: Gray
Hair: brown
RALPH
Date of Birth: January 2007
Gender: Male
Eyes: Brown
Hair: light brown
Character: sociable

That makes me think that maybe, somewhere, he has a family out there. Maybe they are working to bring him home but, have not officially committed to him yet. I hope, I hope, I hope!!!

Want to win a Kindle? A pearl ring? What about a $100 Visa gift card?
I have been following this family for awhile. They have already brought home a little boy from EE, John David ("Liam" on Reece's Rainbow). They are nearing the end of their journey to bring home "Lydiah" (love it!!) They are doing one final fundraiser to try to gather the remaining funds needed to rescue Lydiah from her orphanage. A $5 donation or a link to their blog from your FB account or blog will get you entered to win one of 3 great prizes. More importantly, though, it'll help raise funds and awareness.Click here to go to their blog.
Isn't she adorable?!

Waiting Wednesday
I am going to start posting about a different "waiting" child from Reeces Rainbow every Wednesday. I spent a long time going through the waiting children trying to decide who to post about. There are just so many. It's so easy to be overwelmed and think that 'little old you' can't make a difference but, I always think of this quote.
“I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.”
-Hellen Keller
After much debate, I decided to go with Anthony. Anthony is one of the little ones I have been thinking about for a long time.. one of my "favorites", if you will. He was born in 2005 so he is just a little bit younger than my oldest daughter. Anthony has Cerebral Palsy and also tested positive for TB. Here is what his profile on RR says.
Anthony (25)
BOY, born August 16, 2005
Anthony has blonde hair and brown eyes. He struggles with the effects of CP, and has also tested positive for TB.
From his medical records: Spastic tetraparesis, motor disorders, convergent squint, hip dysplasia, anemia
His muscles are very tight, and he will need significant amounts of therapy. He is not able to sit by himself, and is dependent on his care givers for just about everything. He has a secondary myocardiopathy as well. Quite a laundry list for such a darling boy ;(( Anthony will be sent to a mental institution, and will remain bedridden the rest of his short life. He is blessed to still be living at the baby house, but he will be transferred in the Spring. Please give Anthony a chance to know a loving, supportive family! Don’t let him end up another statistic
SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!
Anthony has a HUGE amount of money in his adoption fund. $20,012.19. That is almost fully funded!
Are you Anthony's Mommy or Daddy?

Sad.
Last week, I contacted Reece's Rainbow's new family liaison person to see if they had new/additional info or photos/video of Bogdan. I heard back from her today. She said they didn't have any other information about him. More importantly, though, she said I was the first person to ever inquire about sweet Bogdan. That broke my heart. I literally sat, comfy on my living room couch in the middle of suburbia, wearing nice clothing, a fridge full of food at my fingertips, surrounded by more material "things" than we know what to do with, and cried.

Bogdan/Joshua
I am a warrior for Bogdan on Reece's Rainbow! The Easter season is over but, I am still advocating for him. Click the icon to go to his profile on RR. I am trying to increase his adoption grant fund. He has a little over a hundred dollars in his account right now.
He is such a cutie. I cannot wait for him to find a family. Though, I have to admit, it will be bittersweet. Honestly, when I look at him, I see my daughters. It is hard to explain. I just feel like he's supposed to be mine. My sister and I have nicknamed him "Joshua". He just looks like a Joshua!

HI!
What to say!!? I have had a blog multiple times in my life but have never kept up with them before. I am vowing to keep up with this one!
I know, everyone says that. I mean it though!
For those of you who don't know me personally, I am 28 years old and Married to Matt, who is 30. Together, we have two beautiful little girls. Maddie was born in 2004 and Lily in 2008.
I work full time doing office/administrative stuff.
Super exciting, right?!
I will be posting day to day life stuff.. Being a full time working (outside of the home) young mom to a 1st grader and a preschooler is very crazy. And my girls are at ages where they say the FUNNIET things. Rest assured, I will be posting all of that!
I will also be advocating for children with special needs from all over the world that are living in orphanages. This is something I am passionate about and often feel like I don't really have a place to voice my opinions.
